Teens who are going through their High School career are also going through one the most important times of their development. For many, this moment in life is a time in which a cross-roads is approaching; determining the path that they will take after High School graduation. In addition to maintaining grades, there are a barrage of different elements that burden teens during this time that can make their lives among the most stressful. Below are some of the more common issues that teens face in High School that can contribute to this stress.
Maintaining Social Status Among Peers
One of the most notable aspects of High School that many people can relate to is the immense emphasis placed towards the social status of students. Students can feel pressure to fit in based off the responses of their peers. Due to this fact, many students tend to do different things that they would normally not do as a result of peer pressure simply to feel as if they belong. Among some of the most notable include: experimenting with various drugs and or underage drinking.
Considering Post High School Education
In addition to the various aspects of peer pressure associated with high School, students must also consider their post high School education. This can be a difficult time; causing disagreements and disputes between students and their parents. In some cases, students become so stressed out that they do not even pursue the possibility of post High School graduation as a result.
